Finally At Last...

The parade on the 24th of October signifies the end of my 16 weeks long Basic Military Training in the Home Team Academy. "Finally, its over...", I thought to myself. From reciting the Police Pledge and singing the National Anthem to the march pass, memories kept flashing back. Friendships made, skills and knowledge acquired and my life somehow changes in a way or another. As we march passed hundreds and hundreds of spectators as a squad, I've to admit that I was really proud about what the squad has achieved as a whole. Best squad we are, stature award won by the squad's best trainee and 3 OCT places were proudly won by us. Voices of joy were resounding around the academy as trainees were shouting "POPO!" after the parade. During the "photography session", I could see real emotions flowing through. I would definitely miss the days of BMT and all of my friends or rather most of them I would say.

Next day, was my squad chalet at Aloha Loyang. It was a 2 days 1 night thing. This provides a great opportunity for us to bond with one another. Besides getting to know one another better, the squad also gets to know our OC squad and FI in greater depth. The squad went in cars to Changi Village for "sight seeing" and gambled bit in the chalet among ourselves. It was kinda fun. It might take a while before I can get to spend time like this with them again. That is all for now. For those friends whom I have not seen for quite sometime, lets meet up soon yea..

A Month to Complete

4 weeks and counting to passing out. Its been ridiculously long since I've enlisted. Seeing most of my friends from SAF passing out couple of weeks ago and have already started out on their newly posted vacations. It gets me kinda jealous although there is no reason why I should be. The idea of SPF wanting to create a grand parade for us together with the Officer Cadet Trainees just irks me. Instead of a promised and estimated 9-12 weeks of BMT, it will now be stretched all the way to 16th week.

Just like a couple of weeks when my squad is starting to get more and more individualistic due to extreme cases of people being over-enthusiastic or chao geng, an incident which just happened last week strengthens and unites the squad once again. Basically, my squad reports about people from other squad smoking in the barracks to avoid being at the recieving end of shits by the authorities and their barracks were raided. Now my squad seems to be the targeted by other squads and is known as "Bao To Kias". Sarcastics remarks were being passed and in actual fact, I don't give a shit about it. I just don't see the reason why we should cover for these people who time and time again got us into trouble. Maybe the squad's "dis-united" period was a blessing in disguise, I wonder..

Now back to myself. Left with the last hurdle to clear after completing all the tests which is the Law Exam this coming Friday. The passing percentage for the exam is frickin 70%!!! Failure in which might result is recourse zzz.. Sometimes, I will be thinking... "Why the hell do i need to mug even when serving ns?!" but yea.. Wish me luck though..

Lastly, congrats to my cousin for getting married. Attended the wedding dinner at Shangri-la on Friday right after I booked out together with dad, mum, gf, bro and his gf. The food was ok but the atmosphere was kind of nice.

Take care my mates.

Ps: Dearest, you look espescially gorgeous for the dinner! ^_^

A Complete Month

Exactly a month ago, I walked into the Home Team Academy premise to serve my NS. It seems like something which just took place yesterday. Everything has been going pretty well for me individually as well as a squad in a whole.

Adaptation to communal living hasn't been much of a fuss. Its not like its the first time that I am sleeping with so many people in a room, on separate beds though. However, couldn't really sleep that well on the first night due to the fact that I was meddling with my new haircut throughout the night.

Have done stuffs from the likes of Intensive Physical Trainings, Swimming, Police Standard Obstacle Course to the likes of attending Law Lesson, Drills, Police Defensive Tactic, IPPT.

Bonding with squad members has been good and the squad is doing pretty well at the moment. Expectations are high about us getting the best squad award when we pass out.

Trying to recover from cough and flu currently. Its just so infectious. When someone in the barrack falls sick, the rest of the lads will eventually follow suit. Kinda irritating cause one simply can't get well when staying in camp. I am a perfect example. Have been trying to deal with the cough for like 3 frickin weeks and it still hasn't ended.

Apart from that, its been quite smooth sailing and I will be more than happy if it stays the same throughout the whole BMT. As I type on, gf is like beside me trying to irritate me with songs with her Zen. Nevertheless, I still love her. Bye guys for now.

Ps: Happy National Day!!!

Turning point

As I begin to type

The time of enlistment gets closer

From this moment

I start to ponder over various stuffs

From those very minimal ones

To the all important one

Definitely I will miss them

The limitless care and concern from mum

The days which I bonded together with the bungs

The wonderful times spent together with the mates

And all the unconditional love showered by gf

Though I can't bring them in with me

For sure they will be remembered

Will my mum be alright

Will gf take good care of herself

Will I get to meet nice people

I yearned for the best

For now

I shall rest and be prepared to

serve NS with the Singapore Police Force

Take care people

Stay in contact

And I'll see you guy around

Ps: Love you dearest and see you in 10 days time!

The next big thing

Its been a week since I stopped work to rest in preparation for NS enlistment. With each passing day, I realised that I am running out of activities to kill my time. I kinda miss work yet I want some rest from work so badly, contradicting huh?

Have been playing mahjong, watching euro 08 with the mates and spending a couple of days with gf throughout the week. Seriously, I'm dying to kick a bloody ball or two on a pitch or court as I've not done it for quite sometime. But it seems like I'm just not able to do it for various reasons.

Last night, went to pick gf up from her workplace to
send her home. It was quite a nice meet up session to be honest. I'm sure she will agree to this.

Earlier in the day when I just woke up, I knew it was going to be another day of boredom with no plans or whatsoever. Therefore, I decided to surf the net for updates about the on going Ronaldo saga. Its not like I so
badly want the club to keep this indispensable prized asset or to sell away this greedy ungrateful fellow. This is all because I choose not to believe all the transfer speculations until Ronaldo himself speaks up and announce his decision. I went to the forum of the official United website to see the comments that people have posted.

There are many United fans out there who wants Ronaldo to go and have come up many possible replacement for him. The likes of Kaka, Messi, Ronaldinho, Schweinsteiger, Arshavin, etc have been mentioned. But there is a guy which some of the folks is raving a
bout that caught my eyes.

Jer Men what? If you guys haven't heard of this talent, you should just go youtube to view the videos of this guy from Monaco. I can honestly tell you that this guys has all the attributes to become the next big thing in the world of football. At the age of 21, he has the world at his feet. His style is quite similar to Ronaldo's but less egoistic. Regardless of whether Ronaldo is staying or leaving, Menez would either be a perfect foil or replacement for him. I would love to see him don the Manchester United jersey next season. Heard me Fergie?

The verdict is out

Alright guys, the verdict is out. France is out of Euro 2008. The nation can crucify anyone they want, from the likes of Raymond Domenech for all his tatical miscalculations, Eric Abidal for his clumsy challenge on Luca Toni, Thierry Henry for deflecting De Rossi's freekick into the net or Karim Benzema for not shinning as brightly as he should have. But truth to be told, France simply under-perform throughout the tournament. Now they have to pack up and leave for good. Tough luck, France.

You might have guessed it. Yes, I went to Mango over at Tampines Mall Isetan with gf earlier in the day for their season sale. I suppose it was in collaboration with the yearly Great Singapore Sale. You cannot believe how messy it was la. The whole store was so packed that you would even have trouble finding the smallest gap. Exaggerating? Take a good look at the photos.

You wouldn't believe that it is a Mango Boutique, would you? The irony is that its frickin' 2.30pm when I took these photos and what the hell la!? Aren't you people suppose to be working at this time? I believe that many of the ladies or in fact most of them took a day off from their company just to participate in the sale. So now, bosses out there, you know why. Can't blame them though, the prices are quite attractive I've got to admit. Gf got herself a few pieces at a decent price. After a period of "treasure hunt", we dragged ourselves out of the store to lunch. However, nothing beats seeing a sense of satisfaction on gf's face.
